A wonderful community opportunity landed in our laps when Discount Dance employees in our Pennsylvania offices collaborated with legendary local venue, The Little Theatre of Wilkes-Barre (LTWB).
LTWB was founded in 1922 and throughout the decades has reached over two million people, presented hundreds of productions and is one of the longest continuously running community theatres in the United States. The Little Theatre of Wilkes-Barre ranks among the 10 best "little theatre" groups in America and this year (2022) marks their 100th season of bringing "Broadway to your backyard."
To help ensure The LTWB had a smashing success with their summer musical production of "Chicago," based on the play by Maurine Dallas Watkins, Discount Dance donated money for renovations, as well as lending creative talent in the choreography and costume design departments. This included hand-selecting pieces from our website collections for the casts wardrobe, technical improvements with the theatre's equipment and helping to promote the show through our marketing department.
Needless to say, the show went off without a hitch, ensuring audiences will be flocking to The Little Theatre of Wilkes-Barre for years to come!
