Katie04/28/2024PERFECT FOR SENSITIVE FEET BUT STILL ALLOWS FEEL OF FLOOR
I have very short toes and my an average arch. I have to wear shoes with shorter vamps but I can't have too short of a vamp or I feel unstable. I also have bunions, ingrown toenails I am constantly struggling to keep at bay. I need to wear a toe spacer and have lots of big toe pain but I can't wear thick padding. It pulls me and my short toes right off the box. I wish I could wear the mold to your foot inserts but I would never be on my platform at all. So I keep experimenting. Tried toe tape, 2nd skin squares and lamswool. It just always ended up a gooey mess. Ouch pouch jr and lambs wool I couldn't do either cause it moved around and caused too much pain. But these oh my gosh! They stay in place! I feel more secure and can easily get on my platform and turn without any fear! I combined this with one of the danztech toe gels that are replacements for the Bloch sponge pad and I'm so so happy! They are slightly thick but I can feel the floor and move my toes. I turned it gel side in to see if it would help and it is fantastical. I hope they last a while. I'll report back in a few weeks or maybe less

Everyone has a personal preference for toe padding and this is ideal for me. These pads do wear out but I use the more worn pads for when my shoes are new and less stretched out. As my shoes are more broken in, I will often use the newer pad to take up some of the extra space. Sometimes I have trimmed the pads to fit exactly how I want coverage too. I wear a street sized shoe of 6.5 and have a somewhat wide foot but a size M fits me best.

My daughter has worn just wool , wool pads , but these gel pads are all she wants because she can still feel the dance floor, but still have the cushion she needs.

ThePhantomIzzy01/19/2013TERRIBLE.
I absolutely hate these toe pads! I had them for one 30 minute class a week, and they lasted maybe five weeks. That's only two and a half hours! They started to fall apart and gave me very little support. Would never suggest these to anyone. Wear Ouch Pouches!

Valentina11/11/2012BULKY AT FIRS
I just ordered my second pair of these, because i loved so much the first one, the first time I wore them they seemed too bulky, and made my toes feel too much pressure but after a couple of times they seemed to start to take the perfect shape for my toes, they seemed to adapt to me and I just loved them since, the wool gives a great comfort and protects, and the gel tips just adds a little extra shock relief, I read other reviews before talking about durability not being good, so I protected them with my tights, I use convertible tights and wear them over the toe pads and this worked just perfect, I dance 4 days a week for about 11/2 hour, the gel on the tip started to tear out after about 2 months, but overall I've wore this for almost 5 months by now they are thin as paper I should've replaced them at 4 months maybe, but considering 6 hours dance a week and having toe pads lasting anything over 3 months seems to me really really good

dancersgotswag10/05/2012AMAZING WHEN NEW
I was really excited to buy these toe pads. The curled lambswool and the gel tip are a perfect combination-you get the dryness and fluff of loose lambswool and the compact comfort of a gel toe pad. These are amazing for the first few times you use them. After about two classes, the gel on the tip had completely ripped off and the wool had flattened. This happened even though they were protected with tights. i still am buying more, but in bulk this time.

BlackSwan08/29/2012THEY WERE GREAT... AT FIRST THAT IS...
I got these toe pads thinking they would be comfortable, and even more comfortable when I noticed the gel tips. But about 30 minutes after I just got them, I noticed a slight dip in the big toe of one of the toe pads. Then I just figured it was just nothing, but then after one or two days later, the gel was completely off of the big toe of the toe pad! Then a few days later after that happened to the first one, then went the second toe pad. I would never buy these again. I might buy from this brand, but not these toe pads. Personally, I hate giving bad reviews, but I can't lie.

Angel2204/07/2012COMFORTABLE AT FIRST.
At first, I absolutely LOVED these. Thick enough to give comfort, yet thin enough to feel the floor. However they wear out extremely fast. Ive been using the same pair for only a month now(roughly 3 hours of point per week) and one day i forgot my toe pads. So i danced without them and felt no difference anymore. The gel rips off of the big toe within the first 2 weeks, and the wool starts to thin out really fast too. So even though theyre amazing at the beginning, prepare to replace these very very often if you purchase them. If you dont, youll experience blister on your toes which are terrible! However, for the beginner, Id still recommend them, since its easy to feel the floor, just be sure to replace them every month or so!

I used to have these at my old dance studio and they are ok. They dont give you as much cushion as others but more than some. The gel does start to rip off after a while and the lambs wool gets flat.

Anonymous02/08/2009LOVE 'EM!
These are the best toepads I have ever used! First I had recommended ouch pouches. They were horrible! But that's a different story. Then I used Leo's gels and loved them but my instructor told me they were making me stand on pointe funny and were way too thick to use (and many others were in the process). Now I've got these. They don't even hurt! I suggest for beginners because they feel great on you're feet. They're nice and cushiony too. I didn't like the gel on the inside so I put it on the outside. It's so simple! And I thought every toepad burns! It's a LIE!

These were thick when I first bought them but after a couple of hours on pointe, they became thinner than paper! It doesn't hurt on pointe and I can still feel the floor so I really like them. Other than the fact that the rest of the toe pad that doesn't cover your toes is so thin that it gave me TERRIBLE blisters. Now I put some new skin on where I get blisters and they are good. Plus, now I have really hard calluses soo... these also do wear out really fast.

I got these pads and I liked them. They are padded enough to where your feet don't hurt but you can still feel the floor. But the medium didn't cover all of my toes. So I would suggest getting the large size.

I disagree with other reviewers who say these are thin. Yes, you can feel the floor, but they're not thin. They're thick and bulky up against the vamp, and would require me to buy shoes an extra width up to make room for them. Needless to say, I returned these. I'll stick with my Gaynor Minden boxliners and Bloch Gel Tip Max. I will say that they were very soft against the toes and metatarsal joints, and the gel wouldn't move, so those are two pluses. I guess if I liked a lot of padding, I'd have thought my prayers were answered with these. As for sizing: I bought a medium, but should have purchased a large, as the medium was a bit short. I wear a size 8.5 Narrow street shoe.

This is my second year on pointe and my dance teacher recommended these first. They are thin which is great so that you can feel the floor. I kept my toe nails very short and I still went through them within a month. They are horrible when your feet sweat. They actually started coming off while I was dancing and gave me blisters. Not even baby powder works to keep these on. They seem to become thinner after every use. By my fourth time using brand new ones my feet went numb. Okay for short use but don't last very long and come off easily.

I had these for my weekly classes (once weekly) this year. I have only been on pointe one year so I don't know how these compare to other methods of padding but I found these to be quite comfy. I hardly had any pain all year even when I was breaking in my shoes. They lasted till the end of the year. However, they did wear down a little. If you dance for more than 45 min a week then, these might not last as long but I loved them.

I didn't get mine from this catalog but mine are the same--I love them. Yes I still get blisters but all dancers do. These do wear out quick though--I go through 3-4 pairs a year.

Anonymous09/28/2007COMFY BUT THIN
The gel tip is very cushioning for my big toe, but after a few classes, the tops of my 3rd and 4th toes continually got blisters because the wool gets very flat. With some tape it wasn't a problem. Good choice if you want to go minimal in your shoes, but need the cushion for big toe! Beats using big tips because they make my toes go numb.

Emma02/25/2007 Kamuela, Hi,I LIKED THEM FOR A WHILE ...
They feel almost the same as lambs wool but absorb some shock ... the gel wears out tooooo quickly! I don't use them anymore. For someone like me, who likes to feel the floor, I suggest you try Gellows by the same brand.

I love these toe pads! I've been dancing on pointe for almost four years and these are the best toe pads I've ever used. The lambs wool with the gel tip is more comfortable, but you can still feel the floor. However, if you blister easily (like me) keep taping your toes even after you buy these. They don't guard against blisters entirely. Overall, if you don't have these, you need to get them. They are the best and I would recommend them to anybody!

Ballet junkie11/26/2006 Minnesota,
I used these last year, and I miss them! Currently, I'm using Eurotard Pointe Comfort pads, and they're suffocating my feet. These ones are much better, because they let your feet breathe, but you still get the comfort of gel. They're also the perfect thickness. I'm definitely going back to these toe pads.

These toe pads are nice but I couldn't tell the difference between these and normal lambs wool. The gel is very thin and does wear out. I recommend ordering a bigger size because they don't cover much of your foot.

Danielle06/04/2006 California,THE BEST!
I spent a lot of money trying to find the perfect amount of protection and padding, and then I found these. They are everything you could want in a toe pad. The sweat absorption and cushion of wool with the awesome comfort of gel, just where you need it. Plus, I don't have to have a combination of things in my shoe. This provides all I need in one easy to put on and wear pad. Thank you Pillows for Pointe!

Emily03/31/2006 Georgia,LAMBSWOOL....BUT WAY BETTER.
Seriously,if you already use lambswool toe pads, then you'll most likely fall in love with these. A plus of having the gel tip, means you're not as likely to get holes in the tips. I did not regret spending a few extra dollars for a lot more comfort.
