I've been dancing for 45 years plus and decided to purchase the Bloch Jason Samuel Tap shoe. It has exceeded my expectations. When I first received them, I thought OMG they were slightly heavier than my normal tap shoe and I was going to have a problem tapping, I DID NOT. They are very comfortable. I did purchase one size larger than my street size like recommended and they fit perfect. I'm 67 years old, still take dancing and I love to tap. I highly recommend these shoes to anyone who loves to tap.

R.L.04/14/2019 Ames,IAI REALLY LIKE THESE SHOES.
First of all, my experience with size is different than most of the other reviews. I went by the Bloch size chart and went a half size smaller than my street shoes. That is the size of my Bloch Tap-Flex shoes that I have been wearing. So I ordered a size 10.5. They arrived and were too small. I had to send them back and get the next size up, same as my Sketchers, size 11. They are just right. So don't think that just because you wear one size Bloch shoes that they are all the same. Okay, the shoes themselves. I really like them. I am an old man. I do not identify myself as a dancer. I take tap because it is good for balance and coordination. I struggled with the Tap-Flex shoes that were recommended by my instructor and really hesitated to shell out for some new shoes. But I did, and these shoes are really an improvement. I like the stiffer sole and I immediately got more sound out of them. They are a bit heavier, but not enough that it is an issue for me, and I think that the weight is helping rather than hindering. I have found my shoe. From the quality, I'm thinking I won't be buying another pair in this lifetime.

The recommendation to order "street size" for this shoe is misleading. We ordered a 12.5 for a student who wears that size in all his street shoes. It is 1.5 inches too long for his foot.
It is an excellent and durable shoe with the necessary weight for hard hitting rhythm tap style.

These are awesome shoes. Super comfortable. A bit heavier than normal, but you get used to it. Really nice quality shoe for the price.

I wear a 9 or 9.5 in street shoes. Ordered a 9 in these so they'd be on the more snug side. I can put my whole thumb in behind my heel when my toes are in the front of the shoes. I've never worn a size 8 shoe as an adult, so I'm kinda scared to go down to that size, but with how big these 9's are, I can't imagine an 8.5 would fit correctly. If at all possible, I'd save yourself a headache and go to a store to try them on instead of buying them online.

Suecee01/08/2016TAP SHOE REVIEW
Bought a pair of size 9 tap shoes. Ordered the street shoe size as was suggested. When my grandson tried them on, they were very tight and his toe was right at the end of shoe. I had to order a size 10 and they were a little big. He needed them for school, so we had to settle. We have ordered other shoes and have always had a great fit. Don't know what I will do in future. The shoes were just what he wanted and seemed like good quality.

I ordered these shoes because I needed a shoe for teaching and performing that was black. Why black? Because I'm going to order a pair of miller and ben shoes in a custom color and I can't be on stage with a blue shoe. So if you don't want to spend a fortune on a all black shoe these are the ones for you. This is the best build up for the price I have ever seen! If you teach or rehearse all day these are very comfortable, also if you don't wear socks they are micro-fiber lined. The toe tap covers the whole ball of your foot and heel tap is large as well. What dose this mean for you? Well, you get a very loud and bassy warm sound that resonates through where ever you are performing. If you are used to a light shoe like a leo then these are going to feel a bit heavy but you get used to them in a week or two. As for the sizing I wear a men's street size 10 so I ordered a 10 in the tap shoe. They felt great at first but the leather stretches as you use them and I should of gotten a size 9.5, just something to think about. I said that they run large but just a little bit. In conclusion, if you are on the fence with these shoes buy them, they will not let you down.
