I use these pads for everything! I've had them for two years now and I wear them for floor work and they aren't very visible under leggings or opaque tights. I've worn them for classes and shows! When the girls see that I've been using knee pads all along they always ask for the link. The gel pad protects my knees without being bulky and the compression really supports my knees while I dance. I have also washed them many times in the washing machine in a mesh bag( cold water option). Air dry them only!

Very comfortable, easy to movements knee pad. Great for long hours knee support. In addition cushion my knee , it also help my knee joint stay together eliminated knee pain. It is invisible wore under long dress costume. I have bought and use the same knee pad for ten years. It will wear after long use. Lose elasticity and the sewing comes lose the gel pad come lose. Replacement once a year. Love this knee pad!

I bought these to use as knee pads for contemporary because I kept bruising my knees during floorwork. They for the most part are fine for what I want them to do but they make my knees feel stiffer and inhibit some movement of them (I am aware that they are moreso designed to be knee support rather than pads, so I get what I deserve I guess). They also are kind of tight especially on my thighs, and while I do have muscular quads I am by no means a very large dancer. In addition, it only comes in a pale skin color. I am not very dark, I would actually consider myself on the lighter end, but the light beige stands out on my skin color more than I'd like it to. I'm sure that those of us who are not as lacking in the melanin department would certainly like to have some knee pads that match their skin. Overall they're fine but I'd like them to have a broader range of colors and sizes.

So these knee pads are fantastic cause they don't just cushion your knees, but the contoured silicone pad provides mild stabilization if you pronate and-or are recovering from any sort of alignment injury. These knee pads are super helpful once you're ready to get out of a bulkier brace. They're not as supportive, but they provide much more freedom of motion. I can wear them during an entire class without thinking I have something on my knees, getting in my way, and they don't slide down much. I only adjust them maybe once per class. As for sizing, they're not super tiny, but they run much more like dance sizes. I am am a US woman's 4-6, closer to an 8 these days, and the L-XL fits snug. I think most adult women are probably the L-XL size, and young teens and very thin adults would be the smaller size. I'm not sure how this would fit men. There is a top and bottom, so make sure you're paying attention. The tag is the quickest easiest indicator, though the bottom half is noticeable smaller. I could see getting confused in a rush.

These knee pads are great in that they are not bulky and are more comfortable than most. My only problem with them is that they only come in one shade. While my causation dancers can wear them and appear to still have bare legs, these knee pads show what skin tone they were meant for on all of my other dancers, and that is incredibly disheartening. I hope this company adds more shades soon.

Before I tried these pads, my knees suffered big time because I refused to buy bulky pads that looked like construction-welder's pads. But these pads are flat enough to be aesthetically pleasing yet comfortable enough to focus more on the dancing... The perfect balance of form and function!

This product is very comfortable and gives my knee enough support without interfering with my movements. I have a small tear in my knee so I use this knee support for all of my dance, martial arts and tumbling classes.

I got these for my hip hop class, as my teacher likes to make us go down on our knees sometimes. These are awesome. They don't slip around or roll down. I'm a size 6-8 in pants and these are perfect.

I bought this a few years ago for dance when I displaced my knee and it was awesome. It provided support and bit of extra padding where I needed it. The outside is a stretchy thick fabric with gel cushion over the kneecap. It feels thin and light when it's being worn. Just this year my friend convinced me to start snowboarding and, believe me, you land on your knees A LOT. Next time I went boarding I wore one of these (on my bad knee) and although the other leg was very bruised, the one with the pad was clear! These knee pads are a great buy- for many different sports! I've even used them for things like biking, elementary intern (kneeling lots), and probably much more but I'm forgetting. Great for all kinds of activities!

These are great for protecting my knees for dance and acro. Wash well and last a long time. The best I've found so far without the bulk and weight of other knee pads.

I have purchased other large black knee pads before, but these are the BEST knee pads ever! Not only are they much better looking and can be hidden under tights for a performance, but they are super comfy, add light support to your knees, and save your knee caps from getting bruised and sore. Several other dancers at my studio went and got a pair of these after they saw mine. They are absolutely worth every $ I spent on them.

bought the knee pads after having them recomended by a fellow cast member. i am currently in a production of CATS, and they are working like a charm we spend quiet a bit of time on the floor. I have bad knees and the gel around the knee cap and the gel spot on the knee cap itself really take a lot of the pressure off my knees. i would highly recomend them.

Even though I am not a dancer, but rather a tennis player - after a rather severe knee injury, I have needed to find something for my activity on the court. As I spent years as a long distance runner, I think I am paying the price now. I was told of knee support items available at pharmacies and purchased a few items. After they either did not work, caused more problems rather than helped, etc., it was then I went on a web search and found this item used by dancers. It made all the sense in the world that dancers put their knees through constant stress and unusual activity, therefore the design on this product would also assist me in lateral and horizontal moves, with multiple moves in between, all on a hard surface. I am now recommending this product to others who suffer knee strain and injury. It works and that is what matters. This product should be alongside all the other knee supports and devices in pharmacies. It is amazing how it just works so well.

I needed small knee pads, so not to be noticed, to go under my unitard for the musical CATS. These are nice and sleek, yet still provide some protection for your knee. Of course they don't provide the protection that huge knee pads do, but for being as small as they are the gel design really does a good job. I would recommend these for any dancer that does floor work and needs a knee saver.

These knee supports are perfect for modern dance. In my company, we're on the floor a lot (knee spins, kneeling, etc.) and sometimes you don't want a big puffy black knee pad to show. These have enough padding to save your knees but they are pretty hard to see under black tights. The large size seems to fit most of the adults who I know that have these. Unless they have super skinny legs, the large will probably fit adults.

I would very much love to know what a "large" translates to.

Top of Pad is 12" in diameter unstretched tapers to 11" in diameter at the bottom below the knee. This also has a lot of stretch.

How tight is the top band? Will it cause indent on your thigh? My thigh is 17" measure 5" above knee

Hello! Thank you for contacting us. The item is very stretchy. The top of it is 5.5" inches in diameter unstretched and tapers to 4 5/8" inches at the bottom.

For the SM the top of the pad is 10" in diameter and tapers to 9" diameter at the bottom below the knee. The length of the SM pad is 10 1/2". For the LXL pad it is 12" in diameter at the top and tapers to 11" diameter at the bottom below the knee. The length of the LXL pad is 11 3/4".

BH1650 S/M has a 10" diameter unstretched Tapers to 9" diameter below the knww LENGTH 10 1/2" BH1651 L/XL Top of Pad is 12" in diameter unstretched tapers to 11" in diameter at the bottom below the knee length 11 3/4"

There are stretchy so you have some give as far as size goes. I'm an adult dancer with fairly large calf and thigh muscles. The large fits me great. I would say if you are a younger dancer with thinner legs, def go for the small. - Kdance86 (06/07/2014)
