It's a nice skirt but isn't one size fits most. I have a 30" waist and it's tight. I know dance outfits aren't made for curvy folks but for a one size fits most this isn't a true claim ans I didn't receive good service when I mentioned it.

This item seems to be made of high quality materials and would be lovely if it weren't for the fact that the sizes are only related to your height. I HAVE to purchase this item for a performance or I would send it back, but the elastic in the waist is too small and leaves me looking quite lumpy. I'll be altering it.. hopefully I do a good enough job and no one will be able to tell. We shall see. It would just be nice to have options as an average sized person who isn't quite the average amongst ballet dancers.

My daughter needed a knee-length character skirt for an upcoming performance. I read reviews of several and was not sure the skirt would fit, since the reviews say they tend to run small in the waist, and my daughter wears an adult size 12.
When the skirt came, the waist did indeed look very small to me. However, it has a lot of stretch, and my daughter will easily be able to wear it for the performance (without having circulation cut off, lol). She is very pleased with the skirt. The 24 inch length hit her just at the knee- she is about 5'4. So, if anyone else is looking for a similar skirt, don't let the reviews put you off. This one has a lot of wiggle room and could fit a variety of waist sizes.

I needed this skirt for the summer, and this was the only one I could have gotten. If you are average weight, or even heavier then average completely disregard this review. I am a smaller waist dancer, wearing 00 pants. When I saw that there was only one size, I became very concerned. When I got it, the skirt was falling of! I knew that there was no way of getting a smaller size, so I kept it. It would be a good idea to look for other skirts like this one if you have this problem.

I bought this for ballroom/tango lessons I'm starting, and bought the 14" length. The length is good for what I'll be doing, but as someone with a high waist, it doesn't quite hit mid thigh. Not an issue for me, since I'm wearing it with a leotard. It looks nice, especially over my leotard which is also black, but be warned that the waistband, while elastic, isn't THAT stretchy. I have 38" hips and it was difficult to get the waistband past my hips. It's still going to work just fine, it just takes more effort than I'd initially expected, and I have to be careful not to pop a seam. Similar problem when I try to slip it on over my head- my shoulders are just a tad too wide for it to work comfortably.

EXACTLY WHAT WE NEEDED
My DD doesn't normally take character classes, but needed a skirt for her summer programs. I was hesitant to order this, as she is very petite and it was an adult skirt. We ordered the 18" skirt. She typically wears an 8-10 and this exactly met our needs for both length and waist. The skirt has an elastic waist which is tight enough not to fall off of her, but looks like it has plenty of room to expand for a larger person. The skirt falls just past her knees. Much better fit than I anticipated. She loves it!

This skirt's fabric feels amazing and flows very nicely. I bought the 24" and it comes just below my knees (I'm 5'1). Waistband fits fine.

ELASTIC WAIST CHARACTER SKIRT
Beware: this skirt runs small!!!! I ordered this skirt for my niece to dress up in because she loves to wear mine. I did order the 18 in skirt, but it isn't even that long! As for the waist, There is no way I could wear it myself! The elastic doesn't have hardly any stretch to it. The skirt I have is small enough for my 5yr old niece to play in, but stretches to about a ladies size 10. There is no way this one that I ordered would do that! It will work for my niece, but I had hoped she would be able to wear it for years to come. (It's not worth returning though because I'd have to pay for shipping.)

NICE STYLE & GOOD FOR DANCE INTENSIVE
This is my first experience with purchasing a character skirt. This one is for my daughter to use in a summer dance intensive. The skirt is very full. Although the material is thin, the skirt seems to be just what she will need. She is 55" tall with a 24" waist. It is a little loose on the waist but doesn't fall off. We can always pin if needed. The 24" skirt was a good length for her. I could not rate durability because she has not worn it yet.

POORLY MADE AND THE WAIST WAS VERY TIGHT
I was disappointed with this skirt and I returned it. The seams were puckered and the waist was too small to be comfortable.

This is my first dance skirt. It has great flow and the 30" is a midcalf length for me. (I am 5'8"). It will work out nicely for what I need it for. Waist is a bit tight on me, but not overly uncomfortable. My only fear is it may get a bit clingy with static, but I will use static guard. Good quality for the price.

I got this for a summer intensive. It's a nice length, the waist is tight enough so it won't slip while I'm dancing, and it flows nicely. Great skirt! It's easy to sew ribbons on the bottom if needed.
