The fit of this ballet slipper is great. They hug my arch. And I love the option of colors as I bought the flesh color. I wear these for ballet class several times per week. They are durable and do not stretch out too much which can look sloppy.

GOOD QUALITY
It was tough converting a childs size to an adult. I went up two sizes and it worked. I like to hand wash them occasionally and they hang dry well.

STURDY SHOE
The canvas is sturdy, and the heel is unusually stiff for a soft ballet shoe. The fit is just a little bigger than expected.

WAY TOO BIG
The reviews on the sizing was a mix of true-to -size and way-too-big so I went with my daughter's usual Ballet shoe size, and we ended up with the "way-too-big" shoes. Like the other reviews, probably 2 sizes bigger. They seem like nice shoes but sadly, not gonna work. They are being returned. I also ordered the infinity stretch, but those were much too small! I don't understand how one company can make the same shoes sizes in different styles with such big size differences. Order 2 sizes down for this style, but order 1 size up for the other style.
Can't order online for ballet shoes.

LARGE AND BULKY
My daughter wears street shoe size 8.5. I ordered a 6 and 6.5. And they are ENORMOUS! Very wide, bulky and lots of bulging on the sides. Also, the elastic does not come attached which is nice for a custom fit but not convenient. Both pairs are being returned!!!

These are the only Bloch slippers that feel comfortable for me and I've tried most of their styles! I wear a 6 in running shoes (Brooks, ASICS, or Nike) and a 5 in heels/pumps/Toms. I wear a 4A in Bloch Pump slippers for my narrow feet.

SHOE SIZE
The only difficulty I have had so far with these shoes is finding the right size. I wear an 8.5 street shoe (a little on the skinny side/normal width) and found, after buying 3 pairs, that size 7B works best for me. I would recommend buying it 1.5 sizes down.

Just ordered these shoes for my 12 year old daughter. She wears a size 7 in a Nike shoe, sometimes 7.5 in some street shoes. Ordered these in a size 7 as stated to do. These shoes are about 2 sizes too big. We can not even begin to make them work. So back they go. Again! Seems I am always returning ballet shoes, which is very frustrating.

I like them. These are my first pair of ballet slippers I've ever gotten and so far they are doing well. I usually rehearse in jazz shoes, but because of a recent recital I had to get ballet shoes. They kind of feel like wearing socks which is good - means they are nice and comfy. The leather part under the ball of my feet was a little interesting to get used to. My toes can curl around the edge of the leather and I found myself fiddling with it when I wasn't dancing. However, while I was dancing I didn't even notice it

The quality of the shoe is great, but while it fits the length of my daughter's foot, it's too wide and baggy and she refuses to wear them. Her feet are on the narrow side of "normal" but we've never had to order a narrow size in ballet shoe. For this particular shoe, a B is too wide. Just something to keep in mind if your child's feet are a bit narrow.

COMFORTABLE AND FLEXIBLE
I have ordered these shoes twice. I was wearing the Bloch Zenith but it never fit quite right. These 'Pump' canvas shoes are very sturdy and supportive. They are lightweight and not cumbersome, yet I can feel support in the arch area which is very important. I have high arches, and wide, strong flexible feet with shorter toes. I feel that this shoe fits very nicely, feet look really good (the shoe doesn't bunch up anywhere) and they provide a great foundation for me. I recommend these!

LOOK NICE BUT COULD NOT KEEP USING
I purchased these at my local dancewear store after trying them on. They are flattering to my arches and tapered toes, which canvas shoes usually aren't. They are a bit baggy in the heel but I have rather narrow heels, even though I have wide-ish feet. I wear an 8.5-9 in street shoes and the size I wear in these is a 6.5C. I wore these for several classes and enjoyed them but I couldn't get over the lining under my toes. It felt like a rock under my toes/the ball of my feet. The lack of comfort made it impossible to balance. I would recommend to try these on, and just be prepared for a little more material under the feet.

These shoes are so awesome. I'm a size 8 in street shoes, and I have narrow feet, so I got a 5.5 B. They fit perfectly. The flesh color is really nice because it blends in well with your skin.

NICE SLIPPER
I have these shoes in the "flesh" color. It sounds gruesome, but it matches my skin really well, so I can wear them without nude tights and it looks okay. They are one of the only nude shoes I've wore that aren't orange, unlike the Sansha shoes (below). About the fit, these are just the tiniest bit big, not even to be bothersome, just enough to grow. I have a 5.5 B in these slippers and wear a size 7 or 7.5 in street shoes, so it seems the "go two sizes down" works pretty well. Also, I wore my last pair of these almost every day, and it was probably 6 or 7 months until I got my first hole. Since they lasted so long, and you can wash them (just don't machine dry), I think they were really worth the money. They're really dependably good slippers, especially when I need a natural looking nude.

ORDERING 2 SIZES DOWN IS ALL YOU NEED.
I'm normally a size 6.5M in regular shoes due to my wide feet. However, I am naturally a size 5.5DD. After reading the review's I thought the shoes where going to be EXTREMELY big, so I ordered a size 4.0D; to be on the safe side. They turned out to be too small, and I will be returning them. I ordered a 4.5D, and just got them in. Tried them on and they are a little better than the 4.0D I previously ordered. I could probably still go up to a size 5.0D, but I will be keeping the 4.5D as they are not extremely small/tight. Overall I think ordering 2 sizes down will be all you need; the shoes are really nice though!

COMFORTABLE SHOE
After trying to isolate my correct size (street shoe 9.5-10) for ballet slippers for a while, these are pretty good. The 7 B is good in the length, but I feel it could be less wide. Over all they are sturdy and feel very comfortable.

DON'T SWEAT THE SIZING FOR KIDS
The instructions on the site were confusing for how to size for children. Add two sizes, then follow the women's instructions, which say reduce by two sizes -- Does that not put me at around the same size as I started with? My daughter is a street shoe size 3 (kids), but it seems in ballet shoes (other brand tried first), she took a 3.5. I was worried what we would get when I ordered the 3.5, but they fit perfectly. They're very secure on her feet. You DO have to do some sewing to fit the elastic, it does not come pre-sewn.

MY FAVORITE BALLET SLIPPER
These ballet slippers were ones that I bought because a pair of Capezios I bought fit horribly on my feet. I LOVE these ballet slippers, they're comfortable and look great on my feet and the Flesh color matched my skin tone fairly well. They also make my point look very nice and didnt hurt or leave marks in my feet upon adjustment. I used them for about a year before they finally died: they had large holes in them from dancing on concrete at a performance. I will be buying two pairs of these again; one in pink for my schools VPA program and the other for my companies performances/misc. uses.

COMFORTABLE AND NICE LOOKING
I bought these shoes for class and I love them. The canvas stretches very nicely forming to your foot and arch and is quite comfortable. It also takes a while for it to wear down. The bottom of the ball however becomes very slippery, but rosin fixes that pretty well.

CAN WITHSTAND THE TOUGHEST REHEARSALS
A solid go-to canvas ballet slipper that really hugs the arch and molds to the foot. I don't really love these as a performance shoe, because the color is a little dull and the vamp is so high. But as a class or rehearsal shoe, they are terrific. They are amazingly comfortable and they stay on no matter what you're doing, with no twisting or bunching. They are also really durable and will take you through long hours of practice.

SO COMFORTABLE!
This is my first time ever ordering ballet shoes. I had no idea about the size, or what "canvas" meant. But after doing my research, and reading some of the reviews below, I ordered 2 and a half sizes smaller than my street size (5.5C - in pink) and it fits like a glove! When you pull the draw-string its perfect! I have yet to sew the elastics yet, but overall SO comfy, great for turning too! so snug and perfect. I would recommend this to anyone!!!

BEST SHOES
I wear a street shoe 10 and buy these in 7.5C. Perfect fit! After Leo stopped making my favorite ever shoes, I was sad and thought I wouldn't find anything else I love as much. But these shoes are wonderful. Durable and comfortable! Unfortunately candle wax got on my last pair. I'm replacing them with another of the same.
The pads on the bottom are very comfortable for turns. They are flattering and lovely.

THE ONLY BALLET SLIPPER WE WILL EVER BUY
I bought these ballet slippers for my daughter after trying 3 other brands in the last year. She would complain about the fit of every other ballet slipper she has ever used. I decided to give these a try and am happy to say she finally found a pair she loves. Her feet look great in them. She says they feel great, and just comparing them to her old slippers, the quality of the material seems better too. She has no complaints about these shoes. I will continue to order these for her as she outgrows/wears them out.

LOVE THEM, BUT..
So I bought these about a month ago, and let me tell you I love them. I only have ballet class once a week, but they feel great on my feet. The only problems are they are very "wrinkley" and my pinkie toe always is sore after class. ?? Other than that they're great. I ordered 2 sizes small than my street shoe, and they fit great.

The shoe is very comfortable and great to dance in, but the color is just off--it's too tan to be a pink shoe and too pink to be a tan shoe so it always looks weird with tights or otherwise.

This slipper is very good! Make my arches look much better. When I wore them first day to the class, my friends even wanna buy them. They look very nice on feet and I felt very comfortable too (no lumps at all). One really small problem is that my street shoes are 5.5 - 6 normal width. I picked 3.5B. I do feel the slipper is just a bit wider than my feet (they still look nice and I can dance with no problem). I am not sure if I should pick size 3B or not. It's better to run big than too tight.

ABSOLUTELY SUPERB!!
I just recieved these shoes in the mail today, and I absolutely love them. The shoe makes my arch look fantastic. They are also very comfortable. I'm very excited to dance on them. I'm a size 8-8 1/2, and I ordered a size 6.5 D. They fit pretty well, however, they were a tiny bit big. So I would say that if you're an 8 or 8 1/2 and have wide feet, to order a 6D.

GREAT BUT ONE THING SEEMS OFF
I love them! I wear a 6.5 to 7 in street shoe and I ordered these in a 4.5B. They fit great, and make my arch look higher than it is, but my only problem won't really affect my dancing. But it seems like the top of them come too close to my ankle, I could be wrong. But other than that, perfect!

AMAZING!!!
These are officially my favorite ballet shoes! They're very comfortable, and have a padded heel. (They also make me look like I have high arches too!)
What I really love about this shoe is the sole. It has the friction of a jazz shoe, so I don't have to worry about falling when I'm doing my pirouettes. All of my turns have actually improved since I purchased this shoe.
I would recommend these shoes to anyone. They're long lasting, durable, and are absolutely perfect!
(I wear a 7.5 street shoe, so a 5B was perfect for me).

ALMOST THERE...
These are really more of a 3.5. They were almost perfect, they lasted a long time, after dancing a year in them 3 times a week they have no holes. They are also made of a very nice, soft canvas, but it is very thick and sturdy. They also flatter my feet very well. The reason I had to retire these though was because there is a lump under the ball of the foot which became so pronounced as time went on that I would have to stop balancing on demi-pointe, not because I lost my balance but because it just hurt too much to put my weight on the lump. The Bloch S0216LR round-toe slipper has everything I like about these, and feels wonderful and smooth under the foot.

I have danced in these twice so far, and they seem to be working well. I think they will get better when I break them a little more. They are my first canvas ballet shoes, and I think I will stick with them because they are so soft and comfortable. I find that they are a very pretty soft shade of pink.

Amanda06/02/2007 New York,
I have worn Sansha Pros my entire career. I loved them, even though the insole always bunched under the ball of my foot after a little wear. I originally bought them in leather, as I needed a leather shoe to dance on a wood floor. I loved the leather so I purchased the canvas. These shoes have since replaced my Sansha Pros. They don't bunch under the balls of my feet, so on demi-pointe, the ball of my foot is flat. My feet are wide at the ball and taper at the heel. I do not have very high arches and these make my feet look great. These are really great shoes for both serious dancers and beginners.

HAPPY WITH THEM (KIND OF)
I have these currently and they work well, but I really don't think they look good. Sure, if you have great arches they work decent, but even if you do, the way the center of the sole is clingy, looks really awkward. I don't plan on getting these again(EVER).

Bobbi09/27/2006 Mobile, Al,
I have very narrow, shallow feet with short, tapered toes and these shoes were not flattering on me nor were they extremely comfortable. The vamp is too high for me and felt restrictive. I have a moderate arch (not banana feet but not flat). For me, the Grishko Ultimate and Capezio Juliet II are much more attractive and far more comfortable.

These shoes are great! But be careful when ordering as they need to be sized properly and won't hug the arch otherwise. I have always worn the pink ones, but are the FLESH COLORED ones actually suntan/skin tone colored, or just more peach than pink? Thanks!!! Wonderful shoe =)

Becky08/04/2006 New York,
SOOOOOO COMFY!
I was always a leather flat kind of girl, but I just had to try these shoes. I think they are soooooo comfy! Usually flat shoes hurt my arch, but these really support the foot. The material does wear out kind of quick (12 1/2 hours=no more wear!), although I am currently at an SI, so everything seems fast! The elastic is sewn in just the right place, too! I loooove this shoe!

AMAZING =)
I am in love with this canvas; it's the only one I'll wear. I love the fact that it hugs the foot and when I dance, I know it won't come off while I'm dancing. It lasts twice as long than the Capezio canvas slippers and is more tight and conforms to the shape of your toes when you sweat. My absolute favorite!

THESE SHOES ARE GREAT, BUT NOT WONDERFUL
Overall, these shoes were great! However, one must be very careful in choosing a size, as a too big of a size will not hug to the arch properly. Sometimes I felt that the toe was too round, and didn't show off my foot as nicely as it could. However, these shoes did allow me to articulate my feet exceptionally well.

K04/13/2006 California,
These are my favorite ballet slippers, no contest. They last a long time, they have flat soles, they have heel cushions, and they aren't expensive.

which color here is better for ballet? Im scared to order. if anybody has any suggestion please tell!!!
The pink color swatch for this style is accurate. It is a light pink. - DDS Customer Service (07/10/2014)
The flesh color blends in well with your skin, and isn't too bright. - Tallballerina (08/27/2014)
I don't think they're too bright. They're more of a peach than a PINK pink though. I'd say they fall more on the tan side. - Katykt (01/11/2015)
Rubieee 09/28/2013 Honolulu, Hi Sizing difference - leather vs. canvas ballet shoes
I have been wearing Bloch's leather split sole ballet shoes and would like to try the canvas one as well. My size is 7.0 with B (normal) width for street shoes and 4.5 leather ballet shoes fit me perfectly. Should I size down to 4.0 for this canvas shoes? In the past I tried 4.5 size canvas shoes and it was really large all over.
All brands have different sizing guides. Please follow the recommended fitting for the item. Typically leather shoes will stretch and canvas does not. - DDS Customer Service (09/30/2013)
I did 2.5 down. They fit well. These do not stretch as much. - Okaykatie (01/31/2014)
i did a 2.5 down. they fit well. however, that is in a c. they don't stretch much. - Okaykatie (01/31/2014)
What does sizing "B,C,D" mean when ordering this shoe?
These letters are in reference to the width of the shoe. B will be cut a bit more narrow, C is an average width, and D would be cut a bit wider. - DDS Customer Service (08/12/2013)
B = Narrow
C = Medium
D = Wide - Sclark (02/26/2014)
The B, C, D is indicating width. If your feet are narrow to normal (mine are), B works well. If your feet and normal to wide, C is a good choice. Only do D if your feet are very wide. - Dancerco14 (06/18/2014)
B = narrow, C = regular, D = wide. As far as I know. - Kash (08/31/2014)
1234 03/23/2013 California Age: 17 or under Will I have to attach the elastics?
Yes, the elastic only come pre- attatched at the heel. - DDS Customer Service (03/25/2013)
Only partially. If your elastics will end up making an X, then the bottom two corners come already attached, so you will have to attach the upper two corners. - Danceteachernumber5000 (03/29/2013)
Yes, the elastics come attached at the heal but you need to sew them on at the arch. - Sensen (06/06/2013)
Yes, but it's very simple. You can do it at home with a thick needle and thread. I had never danced before, so I looked some videos up on YouTube. Just make sure you don't make them too tight. - Rarasaurous (08/13/2013)
they're only attached at the back so you will have to do the fronts. - Okaykatie (01/31/2014)
The shoes will each have two elastics sewn near the heel. You have to take the other end of each of them and cross it, then sew it near the arch. - Dancerco14 (06/18/2014)
I am a street size 9. What size would I take In the Bloch adult pump canvas ballet slipper?
Women order 2-3 sizes smaller than street size - DDS Customer Service (12/13/2012)
I'm a size 9 as well, and i got a 6B. They fit pretty well, but have started to stretch a bit. My preference is to not use the elastics, and tighten the drawstring. - Danceteachernumber5000 (03/29/2013)
You would need a size 7 if you go down 2 sizes and a 6.5 if you go down 3. But I would recommend the 7 - Crooklynite (09/14/2013)
I general, go 2 sizes down. I am between a 7.5 and a 7, and the 5.5 fit with some extra room to grow, but not obnoxiously much. I won't have to replace them for too smallness for a while. I would suggest trying a size 7, though it isn't a guarantee. - Dancerco14 (06/18/2014)
Usually a 7.
I wear a size 9 too and I got a 6B. I like my shoes to fit really tight though. - Katykt (01/11/2015)
