I'm mixed race (half black, half white) and what's considered for many companies is always too light. If there is a darker option (that's not black), they're usually too dark. The 04 Medium Dark was my perfect match and I finally felt like I LOOKED like I was dancing barefoot in the studio and on the stage!
All that and they are great to dance in! I just dance for fun a few times a week, but have been dancing for over 20 years. It was a little different dancing with more coverage over my foot than I’m used to, but these SAVE the tops of my feet during ground work. After about 3 years, my big toe started popping through, so it’s finally time to buy a new pair!

REALLY WEIRD FIT
The toe is almost too long, but it is also extremely narrow even though my daughter has very long narrow feet. The elastic strap is extremely short. The overall fit is just odd and didn't work at all.

JUST WHAT I NEEDED FOR BARRE
I teach a Barre workout class on a hardwood floor, which can be tough on the feet. These half shoes make brushes much more comfortable and also make my pirouettes more fluid.

great shoe for contemporary dance! quite comfortable. however, i would recommend ordering a size or two down, the shoe runs large. other than that, great contemporary or modern shoe!

AWESOME SHOES
My old contemporary shoes had holes in them I had used them so much. I bought these and they're probably the best dance shoes I've ever owned. They're perfectly comfortable, durable for a long time, and you can dance in them easily. Contemporary is my favorite style of dance, so I try to buy the best shoes out there. These fit the bill.
